"The Starlite 1 is one of the lightest traditional 1 person tunnel tents available with the added bonus of a very short packed length.
It’s ideal for bike packing or travelling where overall pack size is paramount.
The Starlite 1 is an extremely lightweight 1 person tunnel tent which is perfect for bike packing, cycle camping or the traveller looking for the smallest overall packed size.
Packed length of only 29cm the Starlite 1 will fit easily into most panniers or packs or can be fixed directly onto a bike thanks to the attachment loops on the outside of the compact storage bag.
The Starlite 1 tent is designed for 3 season use ie Spring to Autumn weather conditions, and for medium duration bike packing and camping trips where more space may be required for greater comfort and / or equipment. Tunnel tents offer a good space to weight ratio and plenty of head room and the Starlite 1 also offers a generous porch for the size of tent.
This tent is suitable for camping off the beaten track in the wild but is equally at home on a campsite.
The simple tunnel design pitches as one ie the inner and flysheet together, which makes it quick and easy to erect at the end of a long day. Once pitched flysheet tension is also quick and easy to adjust with buckle pegging points at each corner.
The inner door is one third midge proof mesh for good ventilation and the flysheet door opens to one side. Guylines are reflective Dyneema, Dyneema guy rope is three times as strong as standard guy rope of the same weight and has very low stretch for stability in all conditions."

The Best One Person Tent

Thirty years ago I bought a Terra Nova Trisar and this summer I had to reseal the seams and reproof it, that’s all I have had to do to this tent in all this time. I now have need for a one person lightweight tent and had no hesitation in thinking of Terra Nova - true most of their products are made in China now but if you check the conditions for the workforce they are fair. Opening a Terra Nova tent for the first time is a very rewarding experience, it really is a thing of beauty and in thirty years the improvement in materials is very good. The design in fantastic; from the clip in inner tent, to the colour coded poles. I also bought a footprint, as I did thirty years ago and particularly like the fact that it now is long enough to include the porch area. The bag is sensible too, allowing you to pack everything away, footprint included, cutting pitching time to a minimum. The space inside the Starlite 1 is very good, I am 6’ 1” and fit in with no problem. At the door end there is enough space for me and my pack alongside if I choose. I really like the headroom, which is why I choose this design as my height means single pole tents tend to slope from the middle to either end so my face would be close to the inner tent, which I hate. The weight was also exactly what Terra Nova said it would be. I used my Starlite 1 for the first time on Dartmoor and despite the promise of fine weather it poured down during the night - not a problem was experienced, no ingress and no undue buffeting, the poles and guy lines did their job very well. The tent also dried out very quickly in the morning sun so was ready for use the next night. There are lighter one person tents but for me this is the best. I would also like to thank Simon from FreshAirJunkie who was very helpful with my queries. 10 out of 10 for the Starlite1 and FreshAirJunkie.
